Go Fly Parafoil

New item! This is the third item in the special auction to benefit the AKA 2008 Gettysburg Earlybird Reception.

This is an approximately 50 square foot parafoil. It measures 90 inches wide by 80 inches tall. It has the "Go Fly a Kite" logo on it.

This is a monster puller. It would be great for lifting loads of line laundry.

I believe the kite would retail for $600.

If you have any questions, just write to me and I'll answer ASAP.

Helping hands

This is sort of a rerun. I told my sister about selling the "third hand".
She said she had a similar situation. Only she bought her own to help in making jewelry.
Then she took on a full time job, had an old boyfriend return, and had no time to work on the jewelry.

She asked me to sell it for her.

So, here it is, still in the unopened package.

Description:
I called it a "third hand".

My wife used to make miniatures and jewelry. I bought this little device to help make her task easier.

(This is a dexcription of my old one.) I got it out and used a couple of times to solder something when I was messing with R/C. I have included a picture doing some simulated job with a button and fiberglass rod..

I did not have it long enough to find a use for it in kite making, but maybe you do. Or perhaps you would like to get a present for someone you know.

I am offering it up for half price, even though it is in new condition, used only by a little old lady on alternate Sunday afternoons only in July of each year.

So, grab up on this beauty and make someone very happy!

Shipping should not be much, as it is not a heavy item. Maybe less than $5.75, for sure.

Use the buy it now price, and I will pay half of the shipping for you. That way you can avoid taxes AND most of the postage!

If you have received gift packages from me in the past, you know you can take my word that you will be happy with this one. That's a promise.

I expect UPS shipping in the US to run about $10.00 - $15.00 depending on your location and final box weight. I will ship outside the US via USPS and charge actual cost.

Please make payment with Paypal.

Kite book, etc.

This is a kite book with helpful information. It is aimed toward a new kite builder. So, if you are a new builder, get it. Or if you are more experienced, get for a gift to a new builder.

It has an 18 pg booklet, a plastic, two line "stunt" kite which includes all materials needed. As a bonus there are plan sheets for several other kites. 8 of them, I think.

If you are the high bidder, I will put something else in the package when I send it to you. Double dip for one price...how about that!!

Shipping .... cheap as possible. Media rate, maybe. Will let you know the shipping, but it will be less than $5 in the USA. I think. Depends on what I include in the package, I guess.

Patriotic Eddy

I could not find a catagory for Eddy or Diamond kites, so I guess this will have to do.

This is a little Premier Kites almost 3 ft by 3 ft. It has not been flown. It comes with a tail, which has not been unwrapped. It has the patriotic color scheme, so someone decided I needed it. I didn't and don't.

So I am offering it up to you. Maybe you could regift it for me.

Tell you what, I have a plastic kite kit here with a white plastic skin, waiting to be decorated, assembled, and flown. Line included. No photo of this guy, but you see one diamond shaped kite, you have seen them all. It is the last of a pack of 6. Byt the Eddy, and this plastic diamond kit is yours, too! Can't pass up a deal like that!

Shipping....not much. Less than $5, I would guess.

Delta kite

Here is another birthday present. Don't tell my wife I have it up for sale! I flew it once, exclaimed over it, gushed with gratitude, etc. Then put it in a bag. It has not seen air since, until I took this photo. Bid what you want, but if it is to low, I will tell my wife on you! LOL

It has a free tail attachment string that I put on for the first flight. Tail is not included.

This thing is between 4 and 5 ft span. Not a biggy, but it DOES have shiny stars! It is made by Go Fly a Kite.

This would make a great gift for someone. Again!

Shipping will not be much. I can't see it costing more than $4, but who knows.

Premier kites Mask ROK

I have way to many of these. There were six, and I decided to sell a couple. One went before I could list it.

This is a fairly large kite. Over 6 ft tall, and nearly 6 ft wide. The kite has no problems as the mask frightens off all the evil kite spirits that try to do harm while it is flying.

However, I have not flown the kite very many times as the scary face also frightens children, and adults at times, too.

Anyway, if you want this bug guy to lift some laundry for you, or just to stake out to keep the evil spirits away, now is your chance.

I tried to get a photo, but it is larger than the wall space I have to hang kites for photos. However, there is enough that you can tell what he look like.

I don't have a flying picture on hand, and it is so dark out that I can not get a flight shot tonight.

Grab this one before it disappears. It is no longer in production, would that make it a collector's item?

Shipping will be in the neighborhood of $8.00

I need to get at least $45 for this guy, or he will find his way into a charity raffle.

This is a 100 foot rainbow tube tail. The width is 5 inches at the mouth and the tail is HUGE at one hundred feet long! The colors are black, green, yellow, blue, orange, red and purple.

I've attached a pic of a generic tube, in case anyone didn't know what they look like. This one is NEW in the bag, all folded up nice and neat.

Fantastic Flexifoil

Second chance

Here is part of team/stack that Banshee had up for sale a while back. However, I am not going to put $100 increments on it! LOL

This one is bluish in color. It is in very good condition in that nothing is torn, broken, repaired, etc. However, it is a bit dusty from what flying it did, and from storage all these 22 years.

I have never flown this one. I got it as a gift, and never did give it any air time. I just considered it a bit of history, albeit I am not well versed on that history. Perhaps Banshee can tell more, as it came from his neck of the woods. However, when I got it out of the shed to take photos I almost decided to put it back in the shed. and fly it later on. Hurry, grab this thing before I decide to do that!!

As the photo shows, this one was #15 in the stack, and it also has the serial number stamped. There is a silver stamp/silk screened/stencil thing on the back showing that it was part of the hook and ladder 1985 record attempt. (Did it set a record?) The kite has a 6 ft span.

This one has the flexi rod in the leading edge taped together in the center where the ferrule is located. I do not know if that was standard proceedure or just on this one. I will take the tape off so the kite can be packed in a more compact package for mailing. I will wrap the tape on something and send it along, so you will have the original parts of this kite. There are no lines or handles.

So, if you would like to own this part of kiting history, here is your chance. The second chance, by the way. Only one person had a chance on the first one offered!!

However, do NOT hang around hoping to snag a bargain, or it may disappear like so many of these items do. When someone goes for the Buy It Now price it is gone. No more chances!!

I am not sure what the shipping costs will be. Should be around $10 unless it goes International. Then the shipping costs double, at least.

A line dancer

This is the latest in my string of line dancers that I started a few years ago.

This guy uses several different types of soft ripstop to give more color. I am not sure how tall he is, but the legs are 5 ft long. I think he is over 9 ft tall when standing on tippy toes, like a ballet dancer. When he is nesting he is around 4 ft tall. I put three golf balls in his toes to hold the feet on the ground as much as possible. He attaches to the kite line in two places.

There is a lot of time and material in this guy. I have 5 others, so this one is looking for a new home.

You can see several different photos here.

http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2820242470098520407nooDKd

I am not sure what the shipping will be as I have not weighed him. I suspect it will be $10 or more, though as he is a rather big boy.

Prizm Triad

I put $65 into the raffle bags, and this is what I won! So, here is your chance to get a $65 kite for MUCH less!!

It is a brand new Prizm Triad, a triangle box kite. It has not been flown. I put it together for the photo, but it has yet to hit the sky.

Take a look and see if you can tell why I put a ticket in the bag for this one. I have had it a year, now, and not flown yet. So it is time to pass it along to someone that does want to put it in the air.

I checked, and this kite is being retailed for $19.95 to $39.00. Most in the lower price range.

So, here is the deal. You give me $15 and I will pay for the shipping. Or you can give me $65 for the kite, and I can get my investment back! LOL

So, go ahead, steal this kite from me. I don't mind!!

Vintage fighter

Not sure this is really vintage, or not. However, it is certainly not a modern line touch fighter. It would probably be better called a single line maneuverable kite. It is made from RSN, and lots of dacron reinforcements. It is not going to fall apart soon!

It has a 21 inch span, and an 18 inch carbon spar. The bow is carbon, too. .05, so it is set up for someone to learn with. The bow rod is held in place by pockets, so it is easy to store/transport this kite. It is easy to put in a stiffer spar for more action, when you are up to it. The black applique was attached using a hot tack iron to hold in place for sewing.

If I was to keep this kite I would put in a bamboo spine, instead of the straight carbon rod. I would also replace the bridle. The one on it now is something like 300# dacron, I think. Really thick.

I am not the builder, it was a gift.

So, for a couple of bucks, you can have a "one of a kind" fighter.

Shipping should be less than $5. I am guessing about $3, but what do I know?

Blue bird of happiness

This is a pretty nice little kite. It is the second that I made. The first was all white, and now resides at its new home.

A 42 inch wing span with fiberglass rod framing. Without the tails the little guys are more like bird shaped propellers. With tails they are more like gliding birds. Look nice.

Ready for flight it weighs in at almost 1.5 oz. Actually my scale said 1.25 oz, but.... That does not include flying line. I used the lightest line I had to fly it, that was 25#, but that is way more than needed. I think it could fly with some 33 Bonded Nylon thread.

I have flown this Blue Bird 3 times. It likes light wind, of course. It may work indoors, too. I don't have an indoors to test, though. I wound some solder to the nose for ballest so the kite would glide better. On my next one I think I will extend the nose a bit. The wing battens, which are 1/8 inch bamboo pieces, I colored blue to match the skin color. I was going to attack the white fiberglass spars with a blue marker, too. Did not get a round tuit, though.

I would rather not have the stars, but unplanned modification is sometimes necessary.

I need the minimum bid, or the kite will go to some kitebuilding retreat raffle.

Not sure of the shipping costs. Probably somewhere in the $5 range. I will need to buy a tube to put it in, or see if I can make one. Nothing much to break.

Air Master BAD BOY

This is a collectors item that I find difficult to part with. However, its been in the store for many years and has never been flown. The Bad Boy, made be Peter Betancourt of Air Master Kites is a classic, time tested design every kite flyer, regardless of skill level, will enjoy.

An extremely easy kite to fly well, the Bad Boy draws the pilot into its element, creating that rare feeling of being a part of the wind. The kite spins tightly, losing only a little altitude with each rotation. Yet it's also possible to spin all wind out of the sail before landing. Flare landings and axles come naturally and leave the flyer with a big grin. The bowline prevents flying-line tangles, and the kite can be recovered from any crazy attitude aloft or on the ground.

Not sensitive to changes in wind speed, the Bad Boy assumes a course and sticks on it until told to change. No little stutters mar its straight-line flight. Its big, open loops appear to have been drawn with a compass.

"And the kite has the uncanny ability to stop half or three-quarters of the way through a spin and hang in position. Although it is bridled to fly (not set up on the edge of a stall like some other trick kites), it stops when told to, no matter what has just been going on."

Chicago Hook and Ladder flexi

Here it is, from 1985 one of the official 6' flexis that once flew in the Chicago Skyliners, Al Hargus president Hook and Ladder World Flexifoil record. The kite does have an official Logo in silver and it shows 2 handwritten numbers that may suggest where in the train the kites flew. It is also autographed by Andrew Jones and Ray Mary the creators of the Flexi Foil.

This Flexi is in very good condition no signs of stress, or snags or rips. The mesh appears in good shape and place.

This would be a great addidtion to your collection or just one to fly.

Wind Wheel

This is also a sky display item, if flown as line laundry, or as a drogue. I flew it from a banner pole.

This is a Premier Kites item that I bought quite some time ago. I really don't think they make them any more. I got two of them, as they were on sale at the time. (See photo of the tag.)

I actually only used them twice, as they kept getting hidden at the bottom of the tub I carry the laundry items in. By the time I would find them, I was to worn out to deal with them. Also, I have so darn much laundry now that I learned to make it, I figure I need to adopt it out. Maybe both.

The product photo is not of the actual ring I have. I don't have a photo of mine. It just shows what it looks like in action. The one I am offering has a teal outside part of the wheel, with the multi color cells. It is 5 ft diameter.

I got the two for $100. I need to get at least $35 for this guy, I think. At that price I will ship for free.

Ground display

Ground display...wait Sky display.....hang on kite banner tail...wait, it is...

Anyway, here it is. It was a gift to me, but I have not used it at all. This item has a history....

I THINK it was made by Barb Meyers. It was won by a fellow club member in a raffle. I had put a ticket toward the item, so every time I saw him I gave him grief about stealing MY banner! So one day he responded by just giving it to me, as he had never used it. I has been carried around stuffed in a bag in my van for about a year.

It is time for this item to find a loving home.

The colors just are not my type, they make my eyes hurt! Very bright orange with hot pink (fuchsia?). I do do not do well with the fancy color names. If it is not blue, red, yellow I am not really sure of the name.

Anyway, this item is 34 inches at the widest point, and 42 inches the tallest.

This item will ship in a flat envelop, so should be very inexpensive S&H. Less than $2, unless you want insurance, etc. I don[t think it is worth the extra, though

Light wind

Workshop kite

This is a light wind kite, or perhaps it could be flown indoors. I flew it once, 1am windless night.

I made it during a workshop at OKR in January 2007.

It is different, as the cross spar is bowed across the FRONT of the kite. Now an artist drawing a picture of it, and putting the tow point on the side with the frame will have it correct! Sort of. The spine is on the back side of the sail.

The kite has about 40 inch span, and is 24 inches tall. Matching kite bag is included, and shown in the photo.

This is very light weight, so the shipping will be minimal. Around $5 for S&H, I am guessing. It depends on you location.

All I want for the kite is the cost of materials, so I can invest in more supplies. I think the kit was $25. So $20 and it is yours!!
