Flag and Banner book

Look what I found at the bottom of the stack on the top shelf! Forgot I even had it. Time to find another pile to hid under.
This is not two books, just the front and back of the same book. The book has instructions, and patterns are folded inside. (Much like clothing patterns)
The S&H on this book should be minimal. Less than two bucks, I bet.

Oh, yes, there will be something else included with the book. I don't know what, but something................

Sosa

The Sosa is more a delta kite than anything else. It is the Oriental version from which the Delta kite may have evolved.

This auction is for the 3/4 oz skin only. You provide the bungee, spars, spine, bridle line, and 4 split rings for the cross spars.

The skin is 7ft on each side. It uses 2 cross spars. The sew quality on this kite is fantastic.

The skin is complete with all spar tabs, holes where needed for bungee cord, etc. The bridle attachment loops are already in place. I will include a plan for the kite, or if I can figure how, I will print out a copy to include.

I did not make this sail. I got it from someone. I can't remember who...it was a few years ago. The skin has NOT flown in the air, except when it was in my suitcase on the plane.

The shipping costs depend on where you are located. Likely around $7.50

Something more than the skin will be in the package.

Here is a link to several pictures. NOTE: The skin is laying on the ground, and camera perspective makes it look like a diamond kite. It is really a square kite flown on the diagonal as shown.

Trapadella, or Trapaporta

Not sure about the name of this kite.

It was presented by Deb Cooley at a MAKR kitebuilder retreat several years ago. A version, with plan, was presented in the AKA Kiting magazine, too. I think that one was/is bigger than the one she presented here.

This kite is the result of my efforts during her workshop presentation. It is being offered up here to help me make another payment to the plumber.

It uses 4 ft long spars, so it is almost 4 ft tall. I found it happier when a tail is attached to the tabs provided on the rear of the kite.
Here is one photo

Other photos showing other views of the kite, stitch quality, applique, etc. can be found here: http://s187.photobucket.com/albums/x102/kskiteguy/a%20sale%20trapaporta/

Shipping will be determined by your location. Should be less than $10 in the lower 48.

lil Skyak

I did not know which category to post this as it includes a kite and a banner partial kit.

This is a little kite that I presented at MAKR a few years ago. I was digging around my kite dungeon and discovered this skin that was a display model.

So, if you would like to make one, here is the skin. The photo shows the teal color fairly well, but the pink (Fuchsia??) looks to red. I did not know how to change that in the photo.

All you need to do is put edge binding on the three vanes, (leaving openings for fittings and access) poke holes for bridle, and it is ready to hit the waves! (Air, that is.) I flew the kite on a single point bridle, and a small two leg bridle. It liked the latter version best, slightly.

I also found a long banner skin. It is about the same colors, but with some Purple as well. It is the type banner that has the long flowing tail type thing built in at the top. I think it was supposed to fit a 15 ft pole. You need to add the leading edge tunnel, hem the edges, and stick it on a pole.

I have no photos of the banner skin. It is just a looooong skinny triangle.

So, here is an almost kit of a kite, and banner.

Shipping should be very low, as no rods and fittings included. (Fittings are made from 1/8 inch vinyl. Spars are .8 fiberglass...or whatever you choose. .7 carbon would probably be better.

Here is a link to the thread that provides a tutorial of sorts.
http://www.kitebuilder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4795&start=0

Here is a link showing some of the group that I had made. You can see why I was not anxious to finish the one in this sale.

String...LOTS of it

Here is a cone of string for those kites.

It is not really kite string, but has been used for that purpose. It is really a cone of the cord used in making auto tires.

I have another cone that I have used for several years when making kids kites.

I have no idea how long the string is, I have used the cone of mine for years, and it has not reduced size that one would notice... Of course it has gotten smaller, but hard to tell.

I do not know if the string is all in one piece, but I did not find a break in the one I have been using. No guarantees.

I think it is cotton?

Anyway, if you would like about 10 pounds of string/twine that comes in a 9X9X10 inch box (With very little wiggle room) this could be for you.

The shipping will be $15.00 or so. Depends on where you want it shipped.

Be the kid with the largest bundle of string on your block!

Sorry, no picture. It is just string! Packed about 4 years now...never got around to selling it...NOW is your chance to get it!

Quad Handles

Over a year ago I bought a custom quad with custom made handles. I have flown it twice.

Decided to pass the handles along to someone who can appreciate such things.

They measure 12 inches from tip to tip. Thread wound, and sealed with a clear substance. Fly fishing rod handle material for the black handles.

Shipping will be via Priority Mail, and should be around $5. If extra, I will eat the excess costs. Oh, something else will be in the box. Not sure that it will be, just something that I find laying in my shop.

Treasure Trove

I was recently lucky enough to pick up a collection of all the American Kite Magazine copies ever published.

Over the years I bought kite magazines from the local kite shop. I only bought from them, at $3.75 per copy. I did not subscribe as I wanted to support the kite shop so it would/could stay in business. That did not work out.

It is a mixed group, but no duplicates. American Kite Magazine...18 copies... dated 1989-1999. Now these 18 copies ARE duplicates for me. So I am willing to pass them on.

I also have 4 duplicate copies of the Kiting magazine. Fall and winter of 2000, 1 copy from 2005, and 1 copy from 2007.

I have an unused, duplicate, copy of a book, Fighter Kites, 29 Original Designs to Make and Fly by Philippe Gallot. Published 1989. $12.99 value.

I have unopened, duplicate copies of full scale kite plans produced by Goodwinds Kites in 1994. One is the XITR Sport Kite. A dual line kite.

The other is a 3-D Dual Duty Diamond Kite. Also unopened, full scale.

[IMG]http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x102/kskiteguy/A%20sale/dualdutydiamond.jpg[/IMG]

I forgot the original price, but IIRC it was over $10 each.

These items will be packed into a medium size Priority Mail packing box. So the shipping costs will be around $11. Whatever the exact price.

There is some empty space in the box, so I will pack in some other items to fill in the empty spot. You will get a full box. These will be surprise items. (Treasure to some, Junk to others.)

So, well over a $100 value, unless you figure in the $1000+ spent in travel to go gather some of the items.

Premire 30 ft Helix Twister

This is a Premire Kites item. 30 ft slo-motion helix spinner. 6ft by 30 ft. One of the corners of each Organza panel is formed into a small spinner blade. This gives the spinner a slow, graceful turning motion.

I got this item at an AKA convention auction. I have used it once. Sorry, it is ALMOST the correct colors, but......Maybe it is correct for you!

Shipping will be the least expensive possible, and will be the exact cost charged by the USPS. Probably close to $10. Maybe more.

This is a hurry up auction. If it does not sell, it will show up on some kiting function raffle/auction.

It must be sold by June 3, so don't think about it very long....Or it will disappear.

This kite is being auctioned by Keystone Kiters for a donation to the American Kitefliers Association.

It was built by Mike Moselin at a workshop taught by Ron Gibian.

Please help Keystone (an AKA kite club) support the AKA. Bid early and often.

The kite, like the others offered in the last few weeks, was made by Mike Moeselin.

All proceeds will be donated to the AKA.

Entire proceeds will be donated to the AKA, a very worthwhile cause we all should support.

Kiteflier's vest

This is a new vest. Made from a tan colored, denim type material. Nice to wear at the field, with a few pockets to store things. Mostly a good amount of space to affix various patches. One is on already, getting you started.

I got this item hoping to "grow" into it. I have had it almost a year, now, and it is still to small.

It is a medium size, I think. There is no label telling me the size. Perhaps a large. I am still 2XX. So jump on it.

Use the buy it now price, and I will pay the postage. Other bids will let you pay your own postage. It will be $7.75, maybe. Maybe less. You pay what I pay for the postage.
