Wren Indoor Duallie For Sale

Hi all.

Beautiful Wren indoor dual-line kite for sale.

Some KNUCKLEHEAD (moi) took this beauty out and flew it OUTSIDE. DUH.

Got a slight abrasion on the LE, so it's not perfect, and the abrasion is quite slight. Likely, some clear Tedlar would fix. But I'm not gonna.

No time or wind to fly 'em, not going to dote on them.

Can likely find line and handles (no promises, but likely)

Drop me a note with questions.

Blue Moon Mamba For Sale

Hi all.

I have a Blue Moon Mamba for sale. The kite has had one small sail repair and needs two whisker paddles

Overall the kite is in great shape. Sadly, even if this kite were rescued from a shark attack with half its life left in it, it would be more kite than I am flier.

So...

$155 plus shipping will get you this beauty.

Shipping, as always, is actual, and I'm guessing it under $10 to the lower $48.

Mamba standards are $289.00 new, so this is a very fair price for the kite.

Drop me a note with any questions.

Holm Struck MAKR Kite Kit

Hi all.

I purchased this very unique kite kit from Holm Struck at MAKR in 2008 and it has yet to even make it to my sewing machine.

It's a "Rockford Diamond - Workshop Edition #15"

The picture is representative of the type of kite.

THIS IS A KIT FOR SALE IN THIS AUCTION

I think I paid $75 for the kit, and that's the price that will take it.

Shipping this kit will have to happen in a long box, so shipping charges are not included and will only be what I pay. Lower 48 on this as I've not shipped elsewhere and all I've read about doing so makes it sound like a royal pain.

PM me with questions if any.

Thanks for looking.

Fighter kite

Here is a chance to pick up on a large fighter kite. It is quite a handful when on the end of a line. It is large enough to haul a lot of line!

It is about the size of the kites in Kite Runner, but made from more modern materials. Ripstop sail, fiberglass bow, and a bamboo spine. I think I can squeeze it into a used pizza box for shipping.

I am posting a picture of it with me holding it. That way you can see the relative size of the kite. I am not a small person. (Currently getting smaller, though.)

So jump on this deal while you can. It may not last long.

Not sure what the shipping costs will be, but less than $10, for sure.

Snoopy, come home!

I bought Snoopy flying his doghouse just last week. He is just a tad over 4 ft tall, in all. It is a holiday airblown sculpture. I have modified it to fly as line laundry. I have had it in the air 3 times, working on the bridle line adjustment.

It is ok, now, I like it. Someone else might want to add another bridle line, or two. I go with the less is better idea.

I am posting a video of Snoopy flying today. I have adjusted his head so he looks back and forth on both sides of his flying doghouse. No bullet holes in his craft!! He is wearing a brown helmet and flying goggles.

Anyway, my wife scolded me...I have 3 snow short men, one 8 ft snowman, two Santas, Pooh Bear, and a Penguin that I have converted. I also have LOTS of other line laundry items, too.

Long story short, I need to get rid of this one/

So, I need to get $40 to keep the peace. The shipping will be around $6, I think. Tell you what, hit the Buy It Now button, and I will cover the postage, and all shipping and handling.

Note: The pictures and video were taken while he was flying in very calm air. About 8mph, I think. The kite was barely staying airborne.

I came across this hat today at a local "garage" sale. It is in excellent condition, clean and no noticeable wear. The proper colors, of course!

It is the Fresno College Bulldogs mascot, but looked like it is something one of you bulldog owners should have.

Shipping will be $4.95 by Priority Mail.
Or it will be something like $3.00 first class mail.
Or if you are going to be at Rochester for the Convention, it would be $57.00. (Cost of the gassoline for me to get there.)

Actually, if you would like for me to bring it to Rochester, we could work out something as a trade for the shipping. Exact details to be determined face to face. LOL Think something cold, perhaps......

Duel use Eddy

This is my duel use Eddy. It has a duel line bridle, and you can fly it like a stunt kite. Sort of. It is slow, stately in flight. However the loops are a blur..or rather fast in any case. You can even do a tip stand, once in a while. Slack line maneuvers....forget it. It is an excellent trainer. Just give it to a beginner and say, "Pull right to turn right. Pull left to turn left."

Launching is very easy. With the kite laying on its face, just pull the the line closest to you, and back up into the wind. It will pull itself up and around, ready to fly at your bidding.

Or you can pull the bridle lines together, fasten to one line and fly it as a single line kite. It usually needs a tail in this mode.

It has an adjustable bow line instead of a dihedral joint.

The kite is not a large kite, nor is it small. It is appx 4 1/2 ft wide, and tall. I used fiberglass spars, and those seem to work.

This kite was made during my early years of kitebuilding. It has the date 2000 written on it. This kite has not had any repairs done, nor any spars replaced. It looks good for its age. Flying lines are not included. I used Dacron lines on it. They seemed to work fine, as there is not a lot of pull on the lines.

As I was very prolific kite builder in those days it went to the bag for most of its life. 911 was on my mind when I made the kite. I made another for my grandson. And another for a different grandson. We had a class where several others were made. I prepared 32 kits and sent them to a girl scout group in Nevada. So it is a proven design.

I need $$$$ for the AKA Convention, so I guess this kite is ready for a new home.

S&H should be less than $10 domestic mail.

Go with the Buy it Now option, and I will rig up some flying lines to go with the kite. Dacron line. Cool stuff, though. Matching colors!!

Vinyl Record

This is a LP vinyl record. (Do they make these anymore?)

It was fine the last time I played it, and I assume it is still fine. There are no scratches nor dings...that I can see. However, I have no way to check the sound, as I no longer have my turntable. Times/things are a changin'.

Unfortunately I did not convert it to digital while I still had my turntable. It could be converted through a commercial company that does that type thing. However, I don't want to have a pirate copy around here.

So, here is your chance to get the record, if you want it.

I have a picture of the front cover, and the portion of the back cover that shows the titles.

It will be packed between two layers of corrugated cardboard for shipping.

S&H will be actual costs. Cheap as I can make it.

I will pay half the S&H to a Direct Sell bid.

And even more books.

As in the other set, this is a portion of my collection, gathered over a period of years. Most are very rare, now.

1. Four Krazy Kites to make and fly by David Pellham. This is an unused book. It says 4 kites, but it is one kite with 4 different graphics. It is a sled kite, and is designed to remove from the book, and fold into the sled kites. It is a bit different style than the typical sled kite. I bought it new. 11993 Paperback in good condition.
2. The Kite Rider. I thought I was getting The Kite Runner. However, this is an interesting story about a Chinese boy and his kite experience. Then the rider part becomes obvious. There are no kite plans. Just the story. 2001 Paperback in good condition.
3. 25 Kites That Fly by Leslie L. Hunt. Kite plans and directions. 1925 Paperback in very good condition.
4. Kites The Gentle Art of High Flying How to Make and Fly Over 20 Glorious Kites by Susan Tyrrell. Excellent resource book from 1978. Library Discard book. Solid, but showing wear around the edges.
5. Making Kites Build and Fly Your Very Own. by Robert Wilkins. 1993 Five different kites with directions. I bought it new. I bought it mostly the for first kite presented. A sled kite decorated in my favorite colors.

As with the other set, I can not take less than $25 for the collection. That is less than half what I paid for them.

Will ship book rate...if you wish.

Books, books, books

Collection of kite books.

Here is a group of books that I have collected over the years. They represent a LOT of time and $$$$ in collecting.

Kite Squid kept bidding against me!

The books are:
1. Kites, A Golden Handbook Guide. 1971 Very rare. Excellent condition. Paperback.
2. Kites, How to Make and Fly Them. By Marion Downer. 1968. Showing its age. Intact except the last cover page is gone. No text on the page, so no info lost. Hard back.
3. Step by Step Making Kites. By David Mitchael. 1993 I bought this book new. Excellent condition, but my name is written on the title page. Autograph?d d Paperback.
4. One-Hour Kites by Jim Rowlands. 25 kites to make and fly. Another I bought new. Paperback.
5. How to Make 18 Beautiful Kites Fun With Kites. John and Kate Dyson. 1976 Apparently this was a Library discard book. Solid condition, but showing age.

I need to get a minimum of $25 USD for these books. That is somewhat less than I paid. Good luck in getting this collection!

To save on shipping I can send them book rate. However, that usually takes longer to transport.

Double gift

I spread out lots of hints that I REALLY needed some hallow punches to make various size holes in my kitemaking. Well, two people were listening, now I have more hole punches than I know what to do with.

Here is a box that has never been opened. For all the use they get, the other box will last me a lifetime.

Speaking of lifetime, I guess these have been here long enough that the Gifter has probably forgotten they got them for me. So I think that it is time for them to find a new home.

The photo tells all. They work great!

Not sure the shipping cost, but rest assured that I will ship as cheaply as possible. If you choose the buy it now option, I will cover the shipping/handling costs.

Sewing machine plus...

Here is a deal for you.

It is a Dressmaker sewing machine with all accessories. Made by EuroProX. It comes with the power supply transformer. Or you can put in 4 AA bateries for the power if you happen need to use it, and there are no electric outlets nearby. Or if you happen have to have 220 power. This machine is in new condition. The only use it has had is when I was testing it.

Not on the best day of the world would I call it a dress maker. A dress mender would be a better name. Of course it will mend more than dresses. Maybe it could make a doll size dress.

I used it on some nylon, and it works fine with it...sort of. Like many machines you have to encourage the material to make it pass under the presser foot. I could find no way to change the presser foot tension. The only tension adjustment I could find was on the thread. The bobbin tension was set at the factory.

It sews a straight stitch only. Well, it should, but I could not sew a straight stitch. But then I can't sew a straight stitch on any machine. There are two speeds, and you can sew using the foot pedal, or you can press the button on the machine and it will sew away without pause. However, even on fast speed it is not very fast, but it makes up for that with the noise. It came with the power supply, foot pedal, a spare needle, user manual in three languages, and various spool attachments.

It is not a large machine, so it would fit in your luggage to take with you on trips, etc where you might need to do some minor kite repair to get back in the air quickly. Or perhaps if you are on the road a lot you might take it with you to do some small kites to squelch that kite making need.

Or perhaps you could give it as a gift to a budding seamstress, or a young kitemaker in the family. Do NOT use this machine to make a Bulldog kite!

There are a lot of things that I have added to the package. Lots of thread, filled metal bobbins, sewing kit, etc. The sewing kit has everything you need. Scissors, seam ripper, two needle threaders, etc. Even a tape measure in both inches/feet, AND Metric on the reverse side. Heck, there are even several buttons included, just in case you need them on your kite!

There are more than two dozen filled bobbins with various thread colors. Several spools of thread are included.

In fact, if you want, I can include 90 or so new ball point needles. I have even added a Singer electric scissor. It does cut ripstop. Batteries included. I think that the sewing machine power supply will work on the scissors, too.

I am not sure what shipping would be, but I will ship as cheaply as allowed. If you use the buy it now option I will pay half of the shipping costs. PayPal incurs extra fees.

By the way, as time passes before the end of this auction, I will be adding to this package. This deal is like a broken drum....You can't beat it!!

Peter Lynn Tri-D

Here is a real deal. It is a kite skin from a Sam Houston workshop. Complete and ready to attach the frame. He used 4 ft carbon tubes, and small cable ties. Also used some thread wrapping on the ends of the rod to capture the ties so they would not slip.

The sail is from 1/2 oz Ickrex (SP) The pictures shows only one of the cells. The other is identical. The wrinkles, from long time storage, will iron out, or just leave them there. They will disappear when the framework is installed, and in flight.

There is not a stitch of sewing on this kite. It is a no sew kite, of which Sam was a avid proponent.

As these are so lightweight, I will cover the postage, if bought on the Buy it Now option. This is for domestic postage. For international postage, I will cover the part that would cover domestic postage, and you can pick up the remainder. Should be minimal.

I decided to go to the AKA Convention, since it is in my backyard. (Only 445 miles from my driveway.) I wasted a hunk of $$$ on our trip to the Bay Area, so I need to convert some of my kite things to take up some of the slack.
