I can't get the knots to stay put - as soon as I try and tension
the spar either end slips on the cf tube.
Did anyone else have this problem?
Do I need to roughen up the cf tube so that the bow line stays put,
or should I consider a different type of tension line?
I am using 150lb black sleeved line that the local kite shop suggested I use for the bridle and bow lines.
Thanks in advance!

Try making a double or triple prussik knot around the spar. It is essentially the same thing only wrapped around several more times to give it more friction - you can look it up online. In addition, there are many other types of "prussik knots" you can look up that serve the same slide and grip purpose. Some may grip better than others, but i don't know the names of any off the top of my head |
