This is a work in progress. Let me know if you'd like something added or improved.

- For rods, enter 0 for I.D.
- Weights for Carbon seem consistent with my scale by it seems fiberglass weights vary a lot. Maybe will remove calculated weight from the fiberglass spars.

Good job!

I noticed in your list that skyshark P300 is less than P400, or almost identical. Is this true or just a typo?

"Just an update to the P300 - P400 debate, it looks like the P300 most likely used a different formulation then the P400 and is actually stiffer."

At one time, the P400 tubes were heavier than the P300 tubes with about the same stiffness. Jon corrected that problem in early 2010 and the new P400 tubes have a stiffness to weight ratio that is in line with the rest of the product line.

Based on the measurements in your chart for the P90 thru P300 tubes, that would yield a deflection of around 0.230 inches for today's P400 tube.

You might think about adding the P1X, P2X and P3X tubes to the mix. They are about the same weight as their more "plain" counterparts (P100 thru P300), but are nominally 5 to 10% stiffer. Don't get too concerned about exact figures ... standard deviation for deflection within a batch of tubes renders the third decimal place moot.

The kiting industry utilizes a very small percentage of the Carbon fiber produced in the world. As such, they can't demand exact specifications on each and every batch of Carbon/epoxy produced. Thus, you will see a larger deviation in measured deflections from batch-to-batch than you'll see, for instance, in the arrow shaft industry. Jon does a great job maintaining consistency within his product line, but maintaining the same level of consistency as the arrow shaft industry would price the Pxxx series of tubes out of our reach.

Cheers,
Tom
