Hi all,
I've just got a cheap 30m of green Ripstop and can't decide what to make. I want to do a large inflatable - but can't make my mind up! I have a lot of other colors as well - but the majority has to be green!
So far I've been thinking of a big Mike Wosawski from the Monsters Inc movie, a godzilla (but i'm not too sure how this would work out) or a fish of some sort.
Anyone got any other ideas?

G'day.
How about you sell it to me? <chuckle>
Or, a long, fat snake. Big at the front, with a shaped head, and a long, tapering body. Add some stripes of you other colors now and then to break up the green.
The head could be a big 3d shape and include a yawning, gapeing mouth with big 'ol fangs and a forked tounge that hangs down and flaps. Red cored eyes inside white, bulging eyes and hooded by green/black slanting brows.
And a <?> shape along his nose, and up between the eyes and over his head.
Just a thought.
P.

It's not really an inflatable, but a friend that I fly with in Grand Haven made a large chinese dragon windsock. It's at least fifty foot long., ( probably longer , but I am not sure of the size.) Bright green with a orange and yellow striped belly. Bulging eyes and a row of spikes down the back. Long black Fu-Man-Chu wiskers from around the mouth. It really looks inpressive hanging from his line and would be easier to make, ( shapes wise, ) than an Inflatable.

HERE[/url] is the plans for this goldfish, ( needs to be translated.)
HERE are the plans for this, ( also need trnslated.)

Hi All,
Thanks for the ideas. The snake sounds like a good one - would be nice to make it menacing and not too happy like the Lynn creatures! My father has already done a large Rowland frog. The plans for the Muräne look interesting - maybe i'll have a go at that, but I'd really like to do something a bit more original!

Now is the time to start your kite buiding with a theme..
Underwater, flowers, mythical creatures (you could start with a dragon or look at Ramlal Tien's kites at ZOONE), Geometric shapes (look at most of Ron Gibbion's kites) etc...
I am thinking down the lines of either flowers, tie dye or turtles for myself... but I dont think I could stick to one theme, but maybe I can.... _________________ VR/

| Mmmmmmmmmmm.. green Try as I might i've never got round to using my green stash of rip stop. I had it in mind to do a massive Edo of the Hulk in Marvel comic styley.... My son is also into the turtles and his 2004 calender has some excellent artwork.... I've often thought of a Dragon kite but never been brave enough to do soft 3d kites. What about a big thunderbird 2 that would be cool ! |

I think the snake is definetely a good idea... Keep us poste on your progress!!
It's funny that we are talking about green Ripstop.. I am also having a hard time using it.
I have a number of really long triangle shaped pieces (from a sail maker), almost in the same shape as the tails on a Pyro Delta... so do you think a Green Pyro would look good..?
Maybe I will start using it as accent colors on sport kites...
What is it about green that keeps us from using it??

I think the green had been in the store for a long time - it had a 75% discount - I couldn't say no - so I took what was left on the roll! |

I've updated the profile, but it isn't much use to you over the pond!
The store doesn't have a standard stock of Ripstop, they just get random roles now and again - sometimes you are lucky and get some good stuff, other times nothing at all!

Hi there,
I'm contemplating a large apple, with possibly a grub emerging from a hole????
So if you can't use the green offer it to others at a reasonable price.
