Yeah, welcome to the snap. For stromger wind go to garden store and buy bamboo. Combine 2 with a brass ferrule - flew mine at quite some wind - no breaking. _________________ You know me. |

I stuck some RET30's in it and gave it another go. It was too gusty, so i only flew it for like 3 minutes. The Bee is awesome. It doesn't spin, and the wings actually flap Video soon.
I didn't even think of getting a side view of the keels.
Oh, and someone called it The Springtime kite.

I finished the project with some minor changes. I guess the seams were acceptable with the winds 14-18 with really heavy gusting. I only flew it for a few minutes to get the pictures. I then pulled out the Flying Bulldog. Much more appropriate to the conditions, but I think the Fled will be better for KAP!
After seeing the other graphics, I am considering appliqueing an eye, so I can have an "eye in the sky" for my KAP kite.
Great project!

Love the bee drogue, Bitter Jeweler. That's a fled that you look up at it and it brings a smile to your face for sure.
Gkiteguy, we'll have to do some KAPing in Rockport this June with our new fleds!!

Hey Bitter,
That's excellent!! The drogue is really really awesome. I am glad it doesn't spin, and the video on you tube is excellent. The Keels with the same design really works well, as it moves side to side the graphic is still nice and visible!
Cheers,

The only real changes were using hot tacking instead of tape. I had real trouble with the gumming of my machine and dropping stitches. |
