Cool.
I was wondering what the kevlar tape was being used for...
Looks great, Bill! Well thought out and presented. Should get everyone going nicely! _________________ Simon

Thanks Fore Check,
I sweated the details a bit too much I think. I will be building one as we go as well..
The kevlar tape idea is based on what the Revolution kites guys do on the lower 'V' of the 1.5, etc. It's light, strong and should prevent major tears.
Cheers,

OK gang - there's 89 of us (by my count) signed up for this project via the usergroup. How many are gonna start cutting fabric tonight? _________________ Simon

Hello all,
I have added links to the pdf versions of the panel and reinforcement diagrams to the "Week One" post.
Cheers,

I'd love for some folks to start in with the Q&A and start building!
Anyone have anything to chime in with regarding their personal Fleds? How about color choices? Anyone else thinking about a mod?
(I say that while thinking about my Bulldog growling at me down in the basement.... ) _________________ Simon

I am still thinking about sail design.
I just got my BullDog, and it is messin' with my head. Not in the way it is messin' with Simons head. Mine is more of a "Holy Crap, what did I get myself into" kinda thing.
After dinner I will paw over the directions.
Really? 89 people signed up for this. That's great! _________________ www.dwilkinsondesign.com

It took more than one deep breath, but I've thought it through 1,368 times now. It's gonna be fairly easy, compared to some of the other projects I've done.
Now, about that Fled. What do you have in mind?

Honestly. I am blank.
I love the shape of the kite, but it isn't speaking to me.
I look at the colors I have on hand, they aren't talking either.
I love how you did yours with the alternate color sail and edge binding, and I can really get into the simplicity of it, but then I look at my colors...
I'll get there. Something will start speaking to me, and then it will all fall into place. (this is how I work) _________________ www.dwilkinsondesign.com

That color scheme was a "Eureka!" moment going through about what you're describing - staring at what I had.
What have you got? _________________ Simon
