I just leave that seam that is sticking up hanging out. Chillin'.
I don't know if the reinforcement stitch on the seam allowance is necessary, but I ran one. I used a straight stitch parallel to the construction stitch. Then I trim off the seam allowance outside the reinforcement stitch to minimize how much is sticking out.
If you tack the flap down one way, your doing so to the center panel. Other way is to the wing.
For me, that's just an opportunity to screw up the sail tension. _________________ Simon

Ok, I am belated on board. I am really behind because I am making the sails still - even prior to exact cutting them.......
Have a look at my center piece:
Seems that I am really back into it - wasn't sure when I made the first Rokkaku after 10 years of absence. There was just too much change in my life at that time and I couldn't keep up with it. _________________ You know me. |

Looking good!! The nice thing about a project like this is that you can jump in pretty much any time.
Cheers,

This design does not work well for the wings.......looks crappy. So, I am going to make 2 Edo's out of those and start cutting nice clean white Ripstop first..........more like a Moller-Hansen type of design in mind.........applique. Will look way better.
How good I have still 300 yards of white.....
At least I just ordered the building set..........
Two step forward.....two steps back.
Lucky me I have the bamboo for the Edo's....... _________________ You know me. |

Are you going with the plan in terms of size, or are you doing any mods? _________________ Simon
