Reverse Applique

Reverse applique is a technique of layereing several pieces of fabric and then sewing a shape. The excess layers of fabric are then cut out. This is the reverse of Applique which is were you cut out a shape and then sew it onto a backing layer of fabric.

Randy Tom and Jose Sainz popularized this method of kite building in the mid 1980′s.
