2002
Kitebuilder Competition
In previous years, the average total
score in the National Convention is usually between 6.0 and
6.5. This year we had record 112 kites entered into
competition and the average score increased to a whopping
7.51. 2002, again, was a GREAT year for Kitebuilding
Competition!
"They say birds of a feather flock together. In 2002,
the AKA judges wanted this kitebuilder to go home with an
award, along with the rest of the Ocean City flock. This
year, we awarded Special Recognition to the kitemaking birdman
- Jim Ribar. It was an honor to shake your hand."
